Guide to fitness and relaxation in Tallinn

The vast majority of the world doesn’t know a whole lot about Tallinn, Estonia. If you are from Europe you might have one or two ideas, but still it would be difficult to put it down on paper. Estonia is situated in northern Europe, which means there is great difference between the seasons – both in terms of daylight and weather.

In Tallinn, Estonia, everything seems to look good and beautiful in the summer. The sun is shining, birds are singing, and you will see happy faces all around you, it’s also a perfect time for all the people who care about their fitness and body. There are countless options that you can do in summers, from hiking to jogging in Kadriorg Park, and then comes the winter... It is said that seasonal depression is very common in Estonia, due to the long, dark and harsh winters. Sun can be rarely seen, days are short and everyone goes hiding in their caves.

This post will help you find those indoor working out places that can help you stay in shape.

MY FITNESS:

My fitness gym was first established in 2008, when they opened their first branch in Tallinn at Viru Keskus and it grew out to be the largest sport chain in Estonia with multiple branches spread out all across the country. It is considered to be a premium gym and the membership cost is on the high side - it goes from 60 to 100 euros depending on the package you are interested in. They are also different fitness options available like yoga and pilates, which you can opt for..

If you are working in Estonia, chances are your employer already offers you some kind of sports benefits in the form of sports ID, which can be used to avail various discounts at My Fitness, we recommend checking up with your employer.

SPAS:

Tallinn is well known for their spas, where you can relax and feel luxurious without spending lots of money as there is something for everybody.

It doesn’t matter if you are looking to relax from your tough work schedule or want to take a break from the busy city life and go to countryside vacation; there is a spa for you. These spas can be found in many hotels, and you can definitely find one near you. No matter where you are travelling across Estonia, a quick stop by the spa is always possible.

OUTDOOR (Running/Jogging):

Last, but not least, some people are not fond of working out or burning their calories indoor, and always seek for some outdoor activities. Well, look no more, Tallinn got you covered in that area as well.

If you are just looking for options to stay in the central Tallinn, but still make your evening jog sightful then it doesn’t get better than jogging around Tallinn sea harbour, where is an additional jogging track, that goes all around to the beach, which definitely helps you keep those legs running for long. Another option for a nice outdoor jog would be around flower beds surrounding the swan pond in Kadriorg park that is bound to provide you with fresh air and cold breeze to make your jog joyful.

If you’re a student at Tallinn University, we recommend checking out different sports teams, and activities that you can be part of, also there is a gym in Tallinn Univeristy, which can be accessed through Nova building. You can find more information on the website; https://www.tlu.ee/en/gym.
